1) Almighty God, you have given extraordinary courage to your servant Clement, that he was able to stand before the powerful and mighty of this world and fearlessly confessed the holy name of our Saviour Jesus Christ. He steadfastly kept the faith passed down by the Apostles, and calmly died in martyr's death: Prepare us O Lord, that we may confess our faith and hope at any time, and be willing to suffer indignation and adversity for the sake of our Lord; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
