The Feast of St Benedict of Nursia

Collect 1) Eternal God, who made Benedict a wise master in the school of your service and a guide to many called into community to follow the rule of Christ: grant that we may put your love before all else and seek with joy the way of your commandments; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

2) O God, your blessed Son has humbled himself so that we may reap a life of abundance: save us O Lord, that we may abstain from the enticement of the temporal world, let us take heed of the pious deeds of your servant Benedict, that we may serve you devotedly all the days of our life, we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
